Hello Everyone!

As I am sure you have already figured out, my name is Jen! I have not been fit my entire life, and I want to share my story with you.

Growing up, I was surrounded by athletics, one could say it was what took up the majority of my time.  In high school, I lettered in 3 sports; basketball, fastpitch, and cheerleading, and I am still very proud of this accomplishment.  With all the sport practices and being constantly active I never had to worry about how I was going to stay fit, because it was just part of my everyday.  I could eat pizza and cookies for lunch and it did not matter because I would just run it off during suicides in basketball practice. College is when all of that changed.

I graduated from Slippery Rock University, and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science.  Let me tell you what happened in those 4 years.  First off, they talk about the freshman 15, I took that to a new level, from the time I started college to finishing, I had gained over 40 lbs.  I could no longer eat whatever I wanted, because I was not involved in sports.  The gym was not something I was comfortable at or really new how to use.  I always had people telling me what to do, not exercising because I wanted too.  I fell into bad habits which created a very unhealthy life, I will be more than happy to open up to you guys more, but I will leave that to our future conversations.  After graduating from college, I knew something had to change.  I became an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and started training clients at Anytime Fitness, and this is where my life changed.  My boss was a bodybuilder and he offered to train me for a bodybuilding show.  Even though I had "fallen off the wagon", being active and athletic was always in the back of my mind, it's in my DNA.  So I agreed, fast forward 3 years and I have competed in 2 competitions, each time placing 3rd in my class.  

I have found my love and passion for fitness.  Now, I am taking it upon myself to help you find your passion too.  It can be anything; lifting, running, cross fit, hybrid programs, group fitness classes.  Whatever you like to do, I want to help you discover it.  

I truly believe that fitness is and should be fun.  It can get very challenging and frustrating at points, but I never want it to feel like a job.  It is meant to make you feel better, not worse.  Let's create your fit, happy, healthy life, and do it while having FUN!
